The Heteroborane Group |
Prof. Alan Welch A. J. Welch obtained both his undergraduate and PhD degrees from Queen Mary College, University of London, the latter under the supervision of M. B. Hursthouse. Postdoctoral positions at the University of Bristol (F. G. A. Stone, where his interest in heteroborane chemistry was first ignited) and ETH Zürich (H.-B. Bürgi) were followed by short lectureships at the New University of Ulster, Coleraine, and City University, London. In 1981 he moved to the University of Edinburgh and in 1994 to Heriot-Watt University. |
PhD Students |
Rebekah Jeans Rebekah completed her MChem degree at Heriot-Watt University and worked in the heteroborane group for her final year project focusing on carborane catalysis. She has returned as part of the 2016-2017 CRITICAT cohort to continue her research on carborane catalysis. |
